Generally, web programming is a general term that refers to a group of related skills that are used to create, develop, and use the Internet and intranet for communication and other purposes. Web development usually refers to the process of writing a program that runs on a browser, although it may also refer to the development of the site in HTML or JavaScript code. Web development can range from creating a simple single web page of just plain text to very complex Web-based computer programs, e-commerce systems, and social networking sites. Although web development has similarities to traditional web development in regard to its goal of developing a “static” web site, web development involves much more than just writing text, images, or code to build a web site. Instead, web development involves the full development of websites through the use of multimedia, animation, database integration, interactivity, video, audio, and other tools.
